DAVID MORRIS

David L. Morris, of Mountain Top, died Saturday evening, August 31, 2019, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John and Mildred Yashkas Morris and was a graduate of Sugar Notch High School.  David served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, was a seam cutter at Leslie Fay and rounded out his life by driving a school van. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch; the VFW Slocum, Mountaintop; the Slovak Club; Lithuanian Club and a member and past commander of the American Legion 781, Mountain Top. Being an outdoors man, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dave played basketball from his early school years all through high school and in rec leagues. He enjoyed shooting darts and helped with several leagues, most recently at the Office at the Crossroads. Dave never missed a Crestwood basketball or football game and was the biggest New Yankees, Penn State, and the Philadelphia Eagles Fan.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brothers, John and William Morris.

David is survived by his daughter, Carrie Kline and her husband Dean of Mountain Top; son, David E. Morris and Jennifer of Mountain Top; two grandchildren, Mac and Natalie; nephew Bill Morris and his wife, Lisa of Ashley, and many friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 10:15 from the Desiderio Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Holy Family Church, Main St. Sugar Notch, with burial in Alberts Cemetery, Mountain Top.

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at the Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm then again on Thursday morning from 10:00 am.

After the funeral friends and family are invited to attend a luncheon generously hosted at the Office at the Crossroads, Mountain Top.
