EUGENE and ESTHER HEDGEPETH Obituary

Eugene W. Hedgepeth, Jr. 77, and Esther R. Hedgepeth, 66, of Alberdeen Road, Mountain Top, Dorrance Township, died Friday, May 17, 2019 as the result of an accident at their home.

 

Eugene was born Dec. 17, 1941 in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Eugene and Susan Popovich Hedgepeth. Following school he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country during the Vietnam Era. He owned and operated Techtronics Services in Mountain Top, and also taught refrigeration vocational trades. He was very active with Boy Scouting, and loved teaching young men leadership and outdoors skills. 

 

Esther was born Dec. 10, 1952 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to the late William C. and Mary Nulph Rupp. She worked as a secretary for both Arctic Air Refrigeration and alongside Eugene for Techtronics Services. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crocheting, and reading, and could often be found in the kitchen baking something for her loved ones.

 

Both were members of Grace Community International Church, a Christian Fellowship and enjoyed spending time with many family and friends.

 

Eugene and Esther are both survived by sons, Bryan (Ashley) Hedgepeth of Richland, PA; Nathan Hedgepeth, Mountain Top; daughter, Brenda (Elton) Wong of Harveys Lake; five grandchildren, Hunter, Gavin, Tegan, Isabella and Andrew and many nieces and nephews.

 

Eugene is also survived by a brother, Greg Hedgepeth, NJ.

 

Esther is also survived by siblings: Shirley Henn of TX, Betty Suchocki of AZ, Helen Salato of NJ, Harry Rupp of VA, Marlene Cowell of PA, Joseph Rupp of DE, Daniel Rupp of PA, Janice Lewis of NJ, and Martha Sappington of TX.

 

Memorial Service will be conducted for both, on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 2:00 pm at the Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, with Reverend Thomas E. Davis of Grace Community International Church officiating.

 

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home.
