Joseph Dempkosky, Jr. Obituary

Joseph (Joe) Dempkosky Jr. 62 died unexpectedly November 29th at Geisinger Hospital Wilkes-Barre Pa. Joseph is survived by his wife Paula, daughter Andrea Hosage, Tega, SC. His sisters and brothers, Dianne Hopersberger , Mountaintop; Susan Roth, Hanover Twp; Patricia Myers, Mountaintop; Daniel Dempkosky, Mountaintop; Doreen Emerick, Wilkes-Barre Twp. Also Nieces and nephews, Michael Dempkosky, Mountaintop; Matthew Kline, Mountaintop; Kaitlynn Hopersberger, Mountaintop; Jeremy Schlegel, Cornwall NY; Joshua Schlegel, Hanover Twp.; Shannon Arnone, Dallas; Mandy Myers, Nuangola; Raymond Myers, White Haven; Carrie Myers, Lancaster; Jordan Dempkosky, White Haven; Justin Dempkosky, Mountaintop; Amber Dempkosky, Mountaintop; Donald Emerick, Anchorage, Alaska; and Todd Emerick, Ashley. He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Dempkosky Sr., Beverly Stout, Dempkosky, Claypotch and his only son Joseph Dempkosky III. Joseph was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. In early 1970’s the family moved to Mountaintop to open the Arco Garage and gas station on Rt. 309. He attended Crestwood High School and LCCC for drawing as well as photography. Joe soon realized his love for painting and did many murals and art work around the valley. He then owned and operated his Lawn care business which he continued to do. Along with mentoring of every nephew on how to hunt, fish and go through a swamp for a bear. Joe spoke of his biggest and best accomplishment being his love for his and Paula’s fostering of two children, sisters Isabella and Madison. Joe would have celebrated the birth of his first grandchild in January. And as Joe would say “ I gotta go you're boring me” Funeral services will be held Saturday December 8th 5:30 pm at Desiderio Funeral Home, 436 South Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top, Pa. With Pastor Dale Mooney. Friends may call from 4pm until time of service at the funeral home.
