Alexandria “Sandy” Ann Hollock, passed away peacefully at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Although her passing was unexpected, her family is comforted knowing she is at peace with God as she was a deeply devoted Catholic.
Born In Harrison, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Mackiewicz Dondzila. She was a graduate of the Academy of Saint Aloysius in Jersey City, then attended LCCC in Nanticoke for her associate degree in nursing and later received her Bachelor’s and Master's Degree in nursing at College Misericordia. She worked at the old Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre for many years, and continued her career at her Alumni of LCCC as a professor of nursing. She has helped many along the way and has made her mark on so many of the nurses and medical professionals in our area. She loved to spend most of her time with her loving children and grandchildren, especially at the beach. Her hobbies were crocheting, decorating for all of the holidays to make them special for her family, baking everyone’s favorites, playing cards, and traveling. Sandy was known to do anything for anyone. She was very generous to many local charitable organizations not only with her time, but with anything that was needed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Edward Dondzila.
She is survived by her husband, John Hollock and daughters: Jessica Hollock of Florida; Heather (Eric) Bleiler of Mountain Top; Sarah (Tim) Johnson of Texas and son, Eli (Alicia) Hollock of Yardley; and the loves of her life, her grandchildren: Dakota, Xavier, Alexis, Maximus, Paxton, Skylar, Cooper, Decker, Ellianna, and Esme. She also has many loving family members, a sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and former co-workers.
A private Funeral was held on Tuesday, August 24 from the Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, with burial in Calvery Cemetery, Drums.
