ATTILIO PANZITTA Obituary

Attilio Panzitta, 93, of Mountain Top, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.


Born in San Cologero, Italy, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary C. Monteleone Panzitta and moved to the United States with his family in 1948.  He served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree.  Attilio was self employed as an Architect and had a passion for opera, art, architecture and mathematics.  He was a member of St. Jude's Church and was a member and officer of the Sons of Italy.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine Urban Panzitta and his brother, Saverio Panzitta who was killed in the Korean War, Dec. 1, 1951.


He is survived by his children, Deborah (Ralph) Pace of Stamford, CT; Gary (Rosemary) Kapral of Four Oaks, NC; Saveria (Christopher) Saunders of Ellwood City, PA; Salvatore (Elaine) Panzitta of York, PA; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Grace Malagara of Wilkes-Barre; Michael Panzitta of Exeter; nieces and nephews.


Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 9:30 am from the Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top. Reverend Joseph Evanko will officiate.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.


Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and Monday morning from 9:00 am until time of service.
