Austin (Austy) John Herron, Jr. of Wapwallopen, passed away at his home suddenly on Thursday, June 16, 2022.
Born in Tonawonda, NY, he was the son of Austin J. and Helen O'Donnell Herron. Austin was a graduate of St. Leo's High School in Ashley and received his Associates Degree from Wilkes-Barre Business School. Austin owned and operated Mountain Top Transmission in Mountain Top. In his spare time he loved playing darts, shooting horseshoes, camping and fishing. He enjoyed watching Nascar, was an avid Notre Dame Fan and he especially loved spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his loving daughter, Deborah H. Locante.
Austy is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann, with whom they just celebrated their 58th anniversary on Monday, June 13, 2022. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Kristen Locante and her children, Ajanae and Dimajio; son in law, William Locante; brother, Michael Herron Sr.; his nephews, Michael (Tiffany) Herron, Bradley (Nichole) Herron; great niece and nephews, Taylor, Connor and Mason.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Dorrance with Reverend Joseph Evanko officiating. Interment will follow in the parish Cemetery.
