BARBARA MACKO

Barbara J. Macko, 84, of Mountain Top, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 with family by her side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Helen Kondraski Smith and was a graduate of Fairview High School.  Barbara was a member of St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top and was the Wright Township Tax Collector for over 30 years.  She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and cooking for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew and Steven Smith.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband Andrew Macko; children, Karen (Danny) Jurista, Mark (Debbie) Macko, Brian (Colleen) Macko, all of Mountain Top; grandchildren, Samantha, Abbie, Colin, Sarah, sister, Cathy Pehanich of Ashley, nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Jude's Church, S. Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top with Reverend Joseph Evanko officiating.
