Belinda Jean Mooney

Belinda Jean (Keener) Mooney, 58, of Mountain Top, PA died at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

Born on June 11, 1963, in Cumberland, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Keener and Sandra Sayger Lewis. A graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1981, she then received her Bachelor Degree in Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, GA. She married her husband, Rev. Dale Mooney (Pastor of the Mountain Top Baptist Church) in 1980. Belinda was a freelance advertising writer and was well known for her hand crafted items. She was an at home school advocate; homeschooling her seven children and others in ancient history and science. When not hugging others, she loved being a Mom and Grandmother. She loved traveling, canning food, gardening, arts and crafts and reading about history.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Dale Mooney: sons: Derek Joshua (Joanna) Mooney of Brunswick, MD; Michael Allan (Brittany) Mooney, of Fairmont, WV; Patrick Donegal (Katherine) Mooney of San Diego, CA; daughters: Shaundra Lynn Allen of Mt. Vernon, VA; Caitlin (Drew) Ofsa of Princeton, WV; Margaret Elizabeth Jean (Jason) Gardener of Taylor, SC; Erin Faith Mooney of Mountain Top, PA. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Meghan Allen; Chad, Michael, Lena, Mason, Lorelei and Scarlett Mooney and Aidan and Ronin Gardner.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 10:00 am from the Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S, Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, PA. Interment will follow in Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top.

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 4 to 6 pm and Wednesday morning, from 9:30 until time of service, at the funeral home.
