Charles T. Romanowski Sr. 81 of Mountaintop died January 18, 2021 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born June 29, 1939 in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth Romanowski Nanticoke, PA. He attended Nanticoke High School prior to serving his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. He graduated from aviation schools in Jackson and Key West FL, Memphis TN. He was stationed at Cherry Point NC and functioned as a jet mechanic and plane captain aboard the FDR Aircraft Carrier in the Mediterranean. He worked at the WBVAMC for 30 years and retired as a respiratory therapist. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch; Marine Corps League in Hanover Township and American Legion, Post 781, Mountain Top. He enjoyed bowling, football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys Football Fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles T. Romanowski, Jr.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Frances H. Lawrence Romanowski of 36 years; son Mark (Diane) Romanowski of Alden; daughter Michele (John) Eckrote of Alden; stepson Walter (Pam) Kalinowski of Bear Creek; seven grandchildren, Charles, Melissa, Mark, Mitchell, Mike, Amy and Elizabeth; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Pete (Lisa) Romanowski of Fredricktown; James (Meg) Romanowski of Nanticoke and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 8:45 am from Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch at 9:30 am. Interment, with Military Honors, will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 4 to 6 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the funeral home and again Saturday morning from 8:30 am until time of service.
