ELIZABETH "LIBBY" DESIDERIO

Elizabeth (Libby) Desiderio, 90, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 2017, at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on May 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Theresa(Carpineto) Cecere.

She was educated in Wilkes-Barre schools and was a graduate of GAR High School, Class of 1944.

She was a member of St. Aloysius Church at the Parish of St. Robert Bellarmine.

She was a lifelong homemaker, beloved mother and loving spouse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; a son, James Jr.; and sisters, Freda Neuman and Mary Rallo.

Surviving are her sons, Martin and wife, Rosanne, Wilkes-Barre; Sam and companion, Joanne, Hanover Township; and Michael and wife, Michelle, Mountain Top; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

The funeral will be held at St. Aloysius Church, St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes-Barre, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends are invited to call from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

No flowers will be accepted. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, Fox Hill Road, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, or the charity of the donor's choice .
