Our hearts are forever broken as we share the loss our beloved Eugene J. Burge Jr, who passed away on September 9, 2025.
He was born in 1966 in Wilkes-Barre, to the late Eugene and Lois Hartman Burge Sr. A skilled tradesman and self-employed in the HVAC industry, Gene was known for his hard work, reliability, and talent for fixing just about anything. He bestowed invaluable knowledge and skills to those who had the honor of knowing him. Gene had a love for travel and creating adventures for his wife and grandchildren. His passion for music was ever-present, as he rocked our world and took us down many country roads. His playful way and shenanigans will be remembered in story and will always bring smiles to our faces. Gene was a whirlwind of love, laughter, and joy in our lives, for which we are eternally grateful. Gene was tenacious yet selfless, mischievous and caring. He lived his life to the fullest and was well loved. The world is a lesser place without him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Cynthia; children: Eugene J. III, and Stephanie; stepchildren; Richard IV and Gloria, and the lights of his life, his grandchildren; Theadore, Dwayne and Ariella; brother, Christopher (Debra) Burge; and nephews Michael and Christopher.
A private funeral service will be held in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mountain Top.
Arrangements under the direction of Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation.
