Gloria Mazeika Obituary

Gloria A. Mazeika passed away on April 28, 2026. Born on January 28, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Seasock Serafin. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1959.

Gloria was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She always said that her family was her greatest gift and traveled the state to babysit her grandchildren. Many treasured memories were made on family vacations, with Bethany Beach, Delaware being her favorite destination.

Gloria enjoyed staying active exercising with the Women's Workout Group and taking leisurely bike rides with her husband, Jim.

Her beloved dogs, over the years, benefitted from her love of walking.

Staying connected with those around her gave her much joy. Gloria made gatherings with family and friends special, coordinating card parties and various celebrations. She was a talented baker, seamstress, and enthusiastic Bingo player. She looked forward to trips to the casino and shopping. She also shared many laughs and lasting friendships as part of a group affectionately known as the "Trapped Housewives".

A devoted member of St. Jude's Church, Mountaintop, Gloria was delighted to help with the annual bazaar and participate in the former St. Jude's Bowling League. When her children were growing up, she was a parent volunteer for St. Jude's PTG, Girl Scouts, and Little League. Her faith and community involvement were important parts of her life.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Donna Schipani and her husband Ronald of Pittsburgh; her sons, James A. Mazeika and his wife Lisa of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Jerry Mazeika and his wife Trish of Bloomsburg; and her cherished grandchildren, Corin Green, Caden Schipani, Amanda Mazeika, Jared Mazeika, Carissa Soles, and Sarah Mazeika. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Marilyn Mazeika, Arizona.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 60 years, James M. Mazeika; brothers, Joseph, John, and Walter Serafin; and sisters, Lottie Serafin Luckenbach and Jean Serafin Kubicki.
