HELEN R. AUGUST

Helen R. August, 89, of Mountain Top, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at home, with family by her side.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Anne Williams Rosengrant and was a graduate of Plains High School.  Helen was a member of St. Jude's Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was employed at First Eastern Bank, Wilkes-Barre.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her grandson, Matthew Kachurak and six siblings.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 70 years, Dan August; children, Ruth (Joe) Harab of Laurel, MD, Mary (Bruce) Arnsbarger of Purcellville, VA, Susan (Dave) Kachurak of Mountain Top; grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, and Justin Harab, Kara, Daniel and Madison Arnsbarger, Michael Kachurak,7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 12:00 noon in St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top with Interment following in Albert Cemetery.

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 11:00 am until time of Mass at the church.
