JOHN H. GARSIDE

John H. Garside, age 76, of Mountain Top, PA, passed away on February 26, 2024 surrounded by his family.  John was born on January 11, 1948 in Glen Ridge, NJ, to the late Thomas and Harriet (Frishett) Garside. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Roseann Bressi; sons Michael Garside of Dallas, PA, Brian (Tabitha Moser) Garside of LaPorte, PA; sisters, Carol (Frank) Yurkovic, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Peter) Cecere; Catharine "Kitty" (Richard deceased) Lehman and nieces and nephews.

John was a graduate of Essex Catholic High School and attended Florida State University and Rutgers University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. John was a member and supporter of LAMBDA-Iota Chartered Alumni Association, Tau Kappa Epsilon at Florida State University.

John joined the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms in 1972 as an Inspector.  He served on many details and retired from federal service in 2003.  

John enjoyed watching the Yankees and was an avid fly fisherman, hunter and competitive trap shooter. He loved to travel with his wife Roseann going on trips to Italy, Tahiti, Hawaii, Alaska and Caribbean cruises.

He was a member of St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top, PA and the Sons of the American Legion Post 781, Mountain Top, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top, PA.

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 10:00 am until time of Mass in the Narthex in St. Jude's Church.
