John Senghaas, 75, of Nuangola, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, after a long battle with poor health.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 20, 1946, he was the son of the late John and Helen Mesaros Senghaas. John was a graduate of Meyers High School, Class of 1963; Wilkes-Barre Business College in 1965 and University of Baltimore in 1968.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by Keystone Automotive, Exeter and Mercy Hospital (Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre) as a patient transporter in the Radiology Department. John was a member of St. Jude's Church on Mountain Top.
He was an avid reader of hardcover books, which were later donated to local libraries, loved everything chocolate and he really enjoyed a good cup of coffee. He was a devoted fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins and the Philadelphia Phillies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Redding; his best friend, Mark Eastwood; his furry companions.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Tokach Senghaas; beloved daughter, Courtney Senghaas (Biagio Manganiello); cherished granddaughter, Amara; cousins, friends and neighbors.
The Senghaas Family extends their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff and nurses of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore for their compassionate care during John's illness.
According to John's wishes there will be no calling hours.

To his friends, he was called "John", to his family he was known as “Buddy”, but the name he loved the best was “PAPA”.
