Joan Ronan

Joan Ronan, 92, of Mountain Top, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Carlyle and Elizabeth Smith, was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mountain Top and worked as an Elementary School Teacher at Fairview Elementary.  Joan loved tennis and was an avid New York Mets and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ronan and her sons, Steven and Scott Ronan.

She is survived by daughter, Debbie Balogh and her husband, Ken of Fairfield, PA; son, David Ronan of Mountain Top; daughter, Tracey Ronan and her husband, Paul Lenhart of Jefferson, PA; five grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Kaitlyn (Justin) Salyer, Amy and Kayla; two great grandsons, Lucas and Jackson Salyer; daughter in law, Barbara Ronan (widow of Scott); nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral held privately, from the Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top with interment in Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top. Pastor Michelle Kaufman will officiate.
