LOIS BURGE Obituary

Lois J. Burge, of Mountain Top, passed away late Saturday evening, August 31, 2024 in the Wilkes Barre General Hospital.

 

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Edith Hartman and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mountain Top.  Lois worked alongside her husband in his business, Gene's Appliance Repair, prior to retirement. In her younger years, Lois enjoyed riding motorcycles, vacationing in Florida and spending time with family.  She loved knitting blankets and caps for people, donating them to nursing homes.

 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert and Charles Hartman and sisters, Charlotte Stevens and Florence Keller.

 

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Eugene Burge, Sr.; sons Eugene (Cindy) Burge Jr. Christopher (Debra) Burge Sr.; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sisters Edith (Leo) Amos, Brenda Hartman; nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 1:00 pm in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, South Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top with Pastor Michelle Kaufman officiating.

 

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until time of service at the church.

 

Arrangements under the direction of the Desiderio-Lehman funeral and cremation.
