MARGARET CLATCH Obituary

Margaret Maggie Clatch

April 11, 1922 - April 27, 2025

I am honored at my age of 103, to be able to write the story of my life,  I grew up in Richwood, West Virginia into a family of fifteen that survived the great depression.  At the beginning of World War II, I was a welder at the Baltimore Shipyard for the US Navy - Rosie the RIveter era.  After the war, I came to Hazleton and worked in the Garment Industry and found my true calling, caring for people in nursing homes, a job I loved until retirement.

I met and married my husband, Nicholas Clatch and married in 1950. We had a son, Nichoals in 1951 followed by a daughter Mary Frances in 1956.  My beloved husband. a World War II veteran, died November 22, 1973 and my son died May 12, 2022.

I lived a long and happy life with my loving daughter and best friend, Mary Frances Clatch-Slattery and her husband, Michael, along with my cherished granddaughter, who is the "Pride and Joy" of my life. I lived a full life and enjoyed the company of many good people and friends I have met along the way.  During which times we shared great conversations, laughs, day trips, vacations, Holidays and an occasional Casino trip.

I would like to thank everyone who has been a big part of my life. I can say I lived a long full life surrounded by people who loved me and I have loved. I am now resting in peace.

I am survived by daughter, Mary Frances Clatch-Slattery and her husband, Michael; pride and joy of my life, Ashley Slattery and her fiancée Zachary Hayes and many nieces and nephews that I love and appreciate.
