RAYMOND MILLER Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Raymond Miller, 82, of Mountain Top.  Ray died unexpectedly at home on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Ray was born to Raymond and Ruth (Arner) Miller on Friday, May 15, 1942, the second of their two sons.  He was an outstanding track member at Elmer L. Meyers High School graduating in 1961.  He worked for C. W. Schultz and Sons for a few years, until he became a sheetmetal worker.  He spent the next 34 years working for Sheetmetal Workers' Local Union #44.

He married his high school sweetheart, Susan Hoeffner, on February 23, 1963. Ray and Susan spent the next 62 years building a life and family, which includes his four children; Danette, Colleen (Tom), Molly (Bill) and Ray (Heather); eight grandchildren, Lauren (Chris), Erika, Bill, Joe, Dan, Colleen, Aidan and Kiera; two great grandsons, Ben and Job.

Ray could fix, renovate and build practically anything. He transformed two houses into beautiful homes for his family.  He shared his skills with everyone, helping whenever he could.

He was a quiet man who loved the simple things in life: family gatherings, fishing, hunting, being outdoors, wine making, watching the deer in his backyard woods and drinking a cold Miller Lite on his deck.

He was a faithful and active member of St. Mary, Our Lady Help of Christians, Dorrance and their Knights of Columbus #12174.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard, aunts, uncles and cousins.

There are no words to describe what a genuinely great man Ray was. He has the love, respect and admiration of family and friends. Our hearts are broken losing such a wonderful soul.  We will never forget his blue eyes, wide grin, quiet strength, constant love, tickles and "huggie buggies."
