Obituary

Richard Milton Smith, Sr., 74, known affectionally by his family, as "Nickel Nose" of Wapwallopen, PA, passed away at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, surrounded by his two daughters, Renee and Rachell.

Born on May 17, 1947, he was the son of the late William James and Barbara Elizabeth Lillian Drasher. He loved his occupation working for Falzone Towing and Hauling. He loved his children, grandchildren, great great grandchildren and family. He always said he never had any #2 children or grandchildren, because we were all #1.

He loved traveling to see family, he loved camping and having large family dinners. He was a handyman and would do anything for anyone who needed a hand. He has been the “Rock” for his immediate and extended family. He was a social member of the Mountain Top Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Rodney M. Smith and brothers: James, George and Thomas Smith; sisters Elizabeth, Myrtle and Mary.

He is survived by his children, son, Richard M. Smith, Jr and fiance Lori Badman; daughters, Renee M. Smith-Lloyd and Rachell M. Smith of Glen Lyon, PA; son, Randall M. Smith, Sr. and fiance, Andrea Weichman of Clarksville, TN; sisters, Lillian Egbert, Barbara Lewis, Dorothy Balliet, Lois Kania and brothers, Robert, William and Bud Smith. He is also survived by grandchildren, Richard M. Smith III and his fiance Keri Kind; Robert M. Smith, Angela L. Mosher and fiance Rob, Randall M. Smith, Jr and fiance Alexis, Ryan M. Smith, Roseanna M. Smith-Martin and her husband, Hunter; Tiffany N. Lloyd and Kailey N. Crossan, and great grandchildren, Ariella, Richard James Smith, Greyson and McKenzie.

Friends and Family are invited to join the family for a visitation from 2 to 4 pm Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top. Everyone attending is required to wear face coverings and social distance.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations which will go towards his celebration of life in May 2022. More information to follow.
