STANLEY A. FISCHER

Stanley A. Fischer, 95, of Mountain Top, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 22, 2021, at home with family by his side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Granda Fischer. Stanley was a graduate of Meyers High School class of 1943. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Corp during World War II. He was a US Postal Supervisor retiring after 42 years of service.  Stanley loved spending time with his wife and family especially, many winters in Naples, Florida. He was a member of St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top; Knights of Columbus Council 6440 and K of C 4th degree Bishop Hafey Assembly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Eleanore M. Zugarek Fischer and siblings, Helen Hoeffner, Joseph Fischer and Theresa LaVenture.

Stanley is survived by his daughters, Mary Ellen Butkiewicz (James) of Elkton, MD; Sister Ellen (Sandra) Fischer, SCC of Mountain Top; Diane Smith of Mountain Top; seven grandchildren, Amy (Danielle) Fischinskie, Erica (Peter) Gibbons, Allison (Craig) Peters, Lauren Butkiewicz, Christopher (Lauren) Smith, Jessica (Matthew) Metrick, Brian (Kaitlyn) Smith; 12 great grandchildren; Addyson, Morgan & Madelyn Fischinskie, Logan & Emma Gibbons, Kara & Boone Peters, Christopher, Ella & Sawyer Smith, Brianna & Hailey Metrick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 9:30 am from the Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top and will be live-streamed by visiting www.stjc.org

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 4 to 7 pm on Sunday, April 25, 2021 and Monday morning from 9:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas.
