B. Tanner Kahlau, 22, of Mountain Top, passed away, Tuesday, January 12, 2021, 5 days prior to his 23rd birthday as the result of a skiing accident at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort, Lake Placid.
Born in Kingston, he was the son of Butch and Susan Patte Kahlau and was a graduate of Crestwood High School, Class of 2016. He was an all round sportsman, participating in Youth, High School and College Sports, including Football, Lacrosse and Hockey, which he excelled in. He also enjoyed playing golf and skiing. He was a member of St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top and was currently a student and Hockey Player at SUNY Fedonia State University, New York.
Tanner was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernhard and Joyce Kahlau and best friend dog, Bailey.
Tanner was embraced by everyone he met and will be missed by all!
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his loving parents, are his sister, Anna Kahlau, a senior at Crestwood High School; grandparents, Anthony and Susan Patte of Scranton; uncles Tony Patte; Glenn Kahlau; aunts Lisa (John) Tulaney; Deborah Riccardo; dear cousins, Michael Riccardo, Alexandra Tulaney and Jack Tulaney and many friends.
A Private Mass of Christian burial for family will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Jude's Church Mountain Top and will be live-streamed For friends to join by visiting www.stjc.org
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm at the Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top.
