THEODORE HOLLOCK

Theodore Hollock, 93, of Mountain Top, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Mountain Top Senior Care.

Born to the late Catherine Hollock, Theodore proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked as a dedicated Railroad Engineer for 41 years until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Theodore was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother whose love for family was evident in everything he did. Known for his great sense of humor, generosity and warm personality, he brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Theodore especially loved baseball—both as a fan and a player. He was affectionately known by his nickname, "Thumper," for his batting skills on the diamond. He rarely missed his children and grandchildren sporting events, always cheering them on with pride.

He also had a deep appreciation for the outdoor often foraging for mushrooms, enjoying camping trips to Cayuga Lake and Tuckahoe Acres and tending to his wife’s flowers. His presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother, Ted was preceded in death by the grandparents who lovingly raised him, Metro and Mary Hollock; his brother, Charles Hollock; and his sister, Irene Hollock.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 62 years, Judith Hollock; his children, Mark (Karen) Hollock of the United Kingdom, Lori (Tony) Rodgers of Mountain Top, and Kimberly Schuler of Mountain Top; his cherished grandchildren, Joshua Hollock, Kasey (Qi) Yang, Sean Rodgers, and Levi Schuler and one great grandchild, Cobalt Yang. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Dirk) Milz of New Jersey, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 am in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, South Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top with Reverend Michele Kaufman officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, St. Johns. 

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Desiderio-Lehman Funeral and Cremation, 436 S. Mountain Blvd, Mountain Top.
